Edited by William Wright and Paul Ruffin, The Southern Poetry Anthology, Volume V: Georgia brings together over one hundred of Georgia’s poets, including David Bottoms, Natasha Trethewey, Leon Stokesbury, Thomas Lux, Kathryn Stripling Byer, Alice Friman, Judson Mitcham, and Stephen Corey, as well as myriad other luminous voices. The volume marks the fifth of the series Art & Literature has called “one of the most ambitious projects in contemporary Southern letters.”

Inspired Georgia, edited by Judson Mitcham, Michael David Murphy, and Karen L. Paty, is a unique collection of Georgia’s contemporary poets and photographers that engages the history and culture of the state, while serving as a document of some of the best and most powerful pieces penned by Georgia poets and images shot by Georgia photographers in recent years. Representing a wide range of styles, attitudes, and backgrounds, the poets either hail from Georgia or have spent a considerable amount of time in their adopted state.
BEST NEW POETS 2012
The only publication of its kind, this annual anthology is made up exclusively of work by writers who have not yet published a full-length book. Edited by Matthew Dickman and Jazzy Danziger, the poems included in Best New Poets 2012: 50 Poems from Emerging Writers represent an eclectic sampling of the best from the many that have been nominated by the country’s top literary magazines and writing programs, as well as some two thousand additional poems submitted through an open online competition. The work of the fifty writers represented here provides the best perspective available on the continuing vitality of poetry as it is being practiced today.
